What is a Heart Health Check?

A Heart Health Check is a comprehensive assessment of your cardiovascular health. It's designed to calculate your risk of having a heart attack or stroke in the next 5 years and identify changes you can make to reduce that risk.

Heart disease is one of Australia's leading causes of death, but many heart attacks and strokes are preventable. By identifying risk factors early, we can work together to protect your heart health.

The Australian Government funds free Heart Health Checks under Medicare for eligible people. This means there's no out-of-pocket cost when you book with us.

Why It Matters

Heart disease often develops silently over many years. Many people don't know they're at risk until they have a heart attack. A Heart Health Check can identify problems before they become serious.

Who is Eligible?

  • Australians aged 45-74 years
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 30 years and over
  • No previous heart attack, stroke, or known heart disease

Already Have Heart Disease?

If you already have heart disease or have had a heart attack or stroke, you should be under the care of your GP for ongoing management rather than a Heart Health Check.
